I don't really like Stephen Mangan very much, but the Dirk Gently novels are great.

Although I STILL can't work out the first one. I vaguely knew Douglas Adams through a friend of a friend and kick myself for never writing him an email.

Seems to be a few ideas from both books combined with some updates to bring it up to date.

Quite enjoying it.

Never read any of the DG books, probably time to start, I shall see if we have them on our site and "content test" them over the holidays

I shall also have a look for the DG show and have a watch

The first book was best but the 2nd had some great elements to it also
