Does anybody else watch Wheeler dealers.......
And realise, just as they sell the car, that you've wasted an hour of your life ?

There is so much wrong with that programme, the fact they don't account for the cost of a mechanics time whilst fixing up these bangers is one and the they don't actually sell the cars in another.
If it was either TopGear or Wheeler Dealer though, I'd have Fatty Mike Brewer everytime.

I've never seen him buy a car for what I'd consider a bargain, given the amount of work that needs doing to it. Then he always seems to sell the car stupidly cheap "netting a tidy £100 profit". If I was the mechanic I'd be furious

Clearly don't make a profit..but I love it! One of the best car programs...even got my wheeler dealer Mug!

An entertaining show but they clearly do more work to the cars than is accounted for at the end of the program. Proof (if it was really needed!) that there is no money in doing up cars unless you screw somebody at one or both ends of the deal.

I watched every episode too. If you look closely the Lexus wheels from a few years back are propped up at the back and the bentley grill is fixed to the wall. They must be the cars they never actually sold.
I actually applied for my UK300 to be featured in the next series but the never bothered replying after a couple of emails from the producer.

I love it too.
It has a charm despite chunky Brewer obviously buying (for too much) from a stooge then selling to a stooge.
The whole show is fake, but very watchable.

The only way you'd get me to watch that shyte is if you assured me that that irritating fat Brewer **** died horribly at the end

I'd imagine that that was because any real buyer would beg them to re-fit the original wheels. The Lexus program was the worst one.......... a demonstration of how to **** up a perfectly good car.

Its a great little show that I really don't think should be take too seriously. I don't get the anti-brewer rants either.
Its good viewing on a Sunday morning (together with Mythbusters) when your feeling fragile from the night before and justt some good bubblegum for the brain.

I remember the one with the Porsche that he makes in to a track car. He got the second set of wheels for some insignificant price. Then I noticed they were wrapped in brand new Toyo R888's No where did he account for the cost of the tyres in his breakdown.
Noticed in the credits that Toyo were listed as a sponsor! nice little freebee then

I end up watching to see what kind of bodge they are going to do next. Now I know Ed isn't that bad a mechanic even if it is scripte,d what he often says is relatively correct. But their sweeping statments of making a banger into a minter by changing a few bits and bobs makes me laugh.
Especially when it comes to doing any paintwork, I'm sorry, but if anyone thinks using an aerosol can or cheap respray will make a car look like new is seriously mistaken, or they need to go to specsavers. Waste of money, unless its done properly, and that often will cost more than the car is worth.
