How are the Ipads going after a few months?
I would be interested to know how people are getting on with there ipads after a few months?
waste of money or well worth the cash?
How long does the battery last in real time?
Is there any way of recharging when on your travels?
Has it broken or picked up any damage?
Can I just pop a 3g sim from any network in it and it will work?
Looking at the 32gb is that 32gb or storage or is some of it already taken up?

Battery lasts me fine, even on the flight back from the USA it managed a number of films and games, with plenty left in reserve.
The lack of Flash still frustrates the hell out of me. I dont care what anyone says, LOADS of sites still use Flash for some of their content.
Micro SIM only, most carriers do PAYG ones which are fine.
32gb is almost all free. Im nowhere near filling mine.
Rentals of films and programs are much cheaper through USA iTunes lol.
Over priced, but fun to use. A few annoyance with the browsing experience, but other than that a cool gadget.
It only recharges from mains, USB via PC / lappy does not charge.
Hope that covers it from a non Fanboy POV

Ours are standing up remarkably well given the abuse they get from the QA and dev team. We have restored them numerous times, all without issue. Battery life is very good, I have seen at least 5 days hard use testig from a single charge, but that does not include any kind of media usage, well, bar epub and PDF reading
we did have one that seemed dead, would fail to start up after a restore. Left it fir a few days, plugged it in and it started up fine. That has been the only glitch we have seen
we have not had the wifi issues that were reported, which is a bonus as all bit one of our devices are wifi
we shall really see how good battery life is when 4.2 appears with multi task capabilities. Hopefully a dev seed will be out soon. Now that 4.1 is released

The main problems I can see is if I want to put photos on it I need to carry an adaptor?
flash is missing (are there normally apps that will work instead of the flash websites?)
They seem to be over £100 cheaper in the US (about £475 at current exchange) do they add US sales tax on this price or are we just paying over the odds here?

Still loving mine (32gb 3G).
Use it just about every day. 3G has been pretty good and I'm glad I went for it in the end as I've used it a bit more than I thought I would at first.
Haven't had any problems with it. Had to do a couple of resets (full power down) after safari went a bit slow and I was unable to get a wi-fi connection but the reset fixed it. I would say I've had to do that 3 times since I've had it, so not often.
Lack of flash hasn't been a major problem but there have been a few times when it's been a pain not having it but nothing that would stop me buying one.
Being able to upload photos directly from my camera/sd card would be a bonus but I will be buying the adapter anyway, it's not something I would really need to do on the move as such so I don't think it will be an issue carrying it around. It's one of those things that I would chuck in my flight bag and leave in the hotel etc. To use when I returned after a day out snapping.
Battery life has been brilliant. Not sure if there is a car charge adapter available though

My phones charge from the lappy just not the iPad.

The no USB is a PITA but great marketing $29 for a plug lol
Yeah there are SOME apps to replace sites, but if you just pop on a site and its flash you then have to find the app, download the app and use it. Pointless if its a one off visit to the site.
Even the way it behaves on things like Natwest online banking is a pain for me.
Just to add, lack of Flash I agree with SirF, its not a deal breaker as such, but then I still use the lappy for most intensive stuff. iPad is for "oh let me just check" moments, rather than the long net sessions, or writing etc.

On the memory side of things.....
The 32gb has 29gb free when you start.
I've got around 50 applications, 150 songs (just a few, left the bulk (the other 40gb :lol1 ) on my iPod), 2 full length HD movies and almost 4000 photos and I've got just over 20gb remaining.
With the sync process on iTunes i can add/remove movies and photos as required if I needed to free up space in the future so I'm happy with 32gb.

From my link.
"When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode."
As I said and have demonstrated, iPad will charge from a USB socket.
