Always late for work....
Is there a need to always be on time? - Just typing this post is actually making me late
I have no formal start time - hence I make my own up.... but always feel I'm late

Had a meeting at 9am this morning (just finished) so if I was late for that I would consider myself late for work. Our official start time is between whenever the first key holder gets here to open up, before 8am typically, and 9:30am.
Personally if I'm in any time after 9am I consider myself to be a little on the late side mostly because I don't still want to be here at 6pm

I'm the same. We have flexitime, so it doesn't matter what time I get in, but if I get in past 8.45 (our 'official' start time), I feel that I'm late, because I normally get in at 8.30.

I used to work for various companies years ago and start time was always without fail 8:45 with a complete bollocking if past 9 a.m. Sometimes traffic whatever made that impossible and I would always worry about it.
Since running my own business, I now try and get in by at least 9:30 or 10 am because it means I miss some of the morning rush but always work later.
If there are meetings smeetings, then I will make the effort .
Part of the beauty of working for yourself is that I arrange most of my appointments for when it suits me. In the summer I also put my energy and emphasis on clients that have air conditioned offices or server rooms

im never late because I always like to be early to get a parking space. In my last job working in Shopping Centres around NI, I was never on time as i just couldn't be arsed to do the job.

The folks in work are surprised if they see me in early, I do have flexi time but it is supposed to be only within core hours but due to the shift I work I cannot start and finish at the core hours times. Usually I am 5 - 10 minutes late but I have been known to be 45 minutes early before the summer as I was doing a school run on the way to work.
I was late today too but only by a few minutes due to traffic and no real desire to get to work

I'm always about half an hour early for work, just so I have time for a cuppa before I start. Plus I hate to be late.
One of my friends at work has just been given a warning for poor timekeeping. I've never seen her more than about 1/2 minutes late, cutting it fine more than late allowing for watch differences.

I get in for about eight and leave about half five/six, nobody checks and when I fancy working from home I do, when I fancy a lie in or an early dash I do, today am in the car (usually on my bike) as need to deliver a bike I have sold on Ebay, so had a lie in, read for a bit, had a brew and will leave early but I reckon I have covered my hours and like I said nobody is checking, really is a breath of fresh air, I dont take the p1ss so it works, I get my work done, I do things out of hours and it always seems appreciated, I put more pressure on myself than the managment ever do.
Booked myself on a couple of courses (one next week) and a seminar, booked some nice hotels, so a few days away, few beers and nice dinners, a nice family free chill in a hotel and then back when I start missing them, does me good, learn some new stuff.
I think with me, I get peed off with monotiny, so the variation and having the option to have a late start/early finish/odd trips/home working is fantastic.

I left the house at 08:08 and had to drive 20 miles, arrive at the office for a meeting that was scheduled for 08:30 - I walked through the door at 08:31 - if I was a razor I'd be a remmington

My contracted hours are 8.30-5pm, but I am always in, at my desk with the computer on by 8.15am. I'll stay late if there is work that needs doing.
I'm a sad ******* really!
