Training tips

Depends on your current condition, if you can run a 10k in sub-50 minutes then I would say you're in pretty good shape to start trainingn for Tough Guy, if not then you need to get some miles in.

This is my weekly training plan 12 miles a day on the bike, Jog 3/4 miles 3 times a week and fartlek (sprint/fitness wk) twice aweek. And gym 3 times aweek. high protein low carb diet eating 3/4 times a day with iso protein shakes one in morn 1 at night and amino tablets after wk out and creatine bout 20/30mins before work out. I also try and get some swimming in but the misses plays hell with what I do already.
Try this and u`ll be at a good level of fitness within 3/4 weeks dependent on how hard you push your self, you then just need to up the level of either the gym for size or cardio wk for fitness.
I forgot to add, I dont do a thing over the weekend and take time to rest and allow myself to eat what ever I want rather than cutting the carbs.
Hope that helps

Do you rate creatine? I'm about half way through a bottle of it and still not 100% that its worth the cash tbh. Whey seems to shorten my recovery quite a bit and I'll def be keeping it going.
I'm also not 100% on the speed creatine actually acts. i read that creatine is changed to creatinine in the body after 24 hours but like you I have been advised to take it before and after a work out (climbing) so no idea what is the best practice?

Very similar to what I do, run 6 days a week between 5 and 15 miles a day, 4 days running with a 10-12 kilo bag. Cycle 5 days a week (twice on a Wednesday so 6 rides), between 6 and 9 miles to spin my legs between runs. Gym 3 days a week, circuits once a week and a game of football on a Thursday before work.

I rate it extremely highly fwiw, second only to steroids proper. But you get what you pay for. Holland & Barrett creatine for example might not be everything you'd hoped. Personally I use Multipower Professional Zellmax and i'd conservatively estimate it adds 10% to my lifting ability. I only use it as a workout drink, and try to have a few weeks' break from it every few months. Highly recommended.

I commute to wk 6 miles there and between 6 and 10 on way home depending which way I decide to come home proper hammering it generally takes about 17/19 mins to work, I them go for a run as soon as I get from work while i`m still warmed up. Then 3 days aweek I go straight to the gym after that and the other 2 days I do fartlek training.
I do nothing at a weekend though and eat and drink like a machine so I need to do summat to keep me in shape.
Fit as a butchers dog and all that.
