Default Google payments

I'm looking to buy something off a seller on ebay but he wants either cash in hand or if posting then payment by google checkout as he says paypal fees are too high.
The seller has a good rep (vehicle breakers) and i'd need the item posting as he's 100 miles away so i'll have to use Google.

Has anyone else paid this way and had any problems?
I've always used paypal but agree the fees are high

cheers

You won't have any comeback if you pay by Google though.

All ebayers MUST accept PayPal as a valid payment method - its in their T&C's.

Wouldn't pay for ebay items any other way!

Will they not take your credit/debit card over the phone??

I have used Google to pay before on a few occasions with no issues. I always make sure i use a credit card as they should help you out if there are any problems.

As above really.

If they are selling on eBay they have to accept paypal.

"eBay requires all sellers listing on eBay.co.uk to offer PayPal in their listings with the exception of listings in the following categories: cars, motorcycles, aircraft, boats, caravans, trailers, trucks (commercials), services and residential property." Paypal.

So unless it's one of the above...........

The seller has paypal listed but says he wont post unless payment is by credit card or google (defeats having paypal listed?)

It's a car stereo i'm looking at and he got it at £99 collection only, when i emailed about postage he said he'd do it at £15 but only if i use google, today got a google payment request for £124.00??????????????? er £99 + £15 = £114.00, i'll avoid that 1 then
