Default Bose Hifi

i was after a bose or something similar - must be small and compact..to play music from in the house. All my music is on a NAS box so being able to stream would be ideal..is this possible?

Dab would be good too

any recommendations?

What about one of these, if you have all your music on a NAS anyway?

You'll need a PC running the server software, unless your NAS will run it for you - worth checking, perhaps. You don't get DAB but you do get hundreds of streaming radio stations including last.fm and the BBC.

Just buy a 160gig ipod and play thru a proper Bose system. The Bose systems are really good but you will pay a premium

The premium is for the name and the style, not the sound quality. There is much better for less available.

Must agree, on the whole Bose is sh1te. It's a prime example of marketing triumphing over performance

Go down the charity and select anything for 100 quid with speakers more than 6 inches apart

Avoid Cash converters though, they have some utter cack that they try and sell for silly prices. E.g. there was a Sherwood Dolby Pro logic av amp for £80.

To put it in to perspective I bought a Denon 2803 off eBay for £20 more at the same time while my Linn was out of action. Performance wise the Denon is closer to my Linn than the Sherwood is to the Denon.

thanks for this, i think the nas box supports squeezebox..will research into this.

Bose was just a thought, anything else that looks nice and sounds good will do the job also..
