Our old Philips washing machine did that after a minor leak (leaking for about fives years at a guess) caused the whole corner to rust away and then collapse spectacularly whilst it was on full spin.

Fair play for Philips...it was 13 years old and soldiered on for another 2 years after we patched it back together Delivery guys for its replacement who took it away were like "WTF?...there's no way this still works". It did (although you had the bang the catch on the door a few times)

The NEFF on the otherhand just set the bedsheets on fire.

If you have that love/hate thing for machines.
