Brilliant Wish I had done that to my two boys when they were starting out.
Actually that is how I feel after Friday evening when I decided that it would be a good idea to attempt a few wheelies on my MTB. Unfortunately it was looking great until the point that I fell off !! Fell really badly and as I hit the ground I heard a distinct crack and thought " mmm, that's going to hurt"
One cracked rib later you would have thought that I would not be attempting that at my age but hey, never grow up do you

My Mrs had both our kids riding without stabilisers before they both saw 2.5 years of age. Not sure how, or why, but they both took to it like a duck to water so to speak, and pretty much cracked it in a day. I'm not saying they didn't fall off a few times afterwards, I think everyone does that, but they could ride along and ride in a big circle.

Your mrs must be a right slave driver.

Mr_impeza how old is your son?
My lad is 4 and isn't at the no stabilisers stage just yet but I'm hard pressed to get him on it!
My daughter however is only just 3 and she's off like a rocket. Lol.

All 3 of mine were off without stabilisers at 4 ish. Try getting them to ride on grass, then when they do come off, they get straight back on. Persevere and all of a sudden he'll be off.
My 10 yr old has a nice scar on his chin from his last over handlebar moment a few months back....

Walk along beside him holding the saddle so that the bike remains upright until he the bike is balancing itself naturally. Let go of the saddle without saying anything and he will continue until he realises you are not holding him, which is when he will fall off! He will however have learned that he can balance the bike and he will soon be riding by himself. Stabilisers are not necessary.

Stabilisers are plain dangerous. If the stabiliser wheel hits a bump they're off.
I used a broomstick behind the rear frame tube for my eldest (saves the back!). This was pretty slow going so a couple of weeks on his two wheel scooter soon had him sorted.
