Itunes, what a load of pap!
I can't get my head around how such a popular product can be so ****! 2hours i've been dicking around with this waste of space trying to get albums onto the itunes library etc. Apple really are ****s, why not just make it a drag and drop affair.
Messing around with this Itouch confirms my thoughts on never ever buying another Apple I-branded product.

Drag and Drop's OK when you have a dozen or so albums to organise.
When you have a substantial media collection that includes Books, Films, TV shows and Audio - not to mention Pictures, Contacts, Email Accounts, Bookmarks and other's if you're an iPhone/iPod user - then you're going to need an application.

same level of functionality on all formats (hardware restrictions
notwithstanding) the rest of the emperors subjects point out
that itunes was written primarily for the mac, and the version on windows
is inferior.
Given that 80% of the ipod / iphone user base runs windows as there OS of
choice , i cant help feeling that your best buddy, has missed a trick, or
perhaps the uber app isnt as good as it could be?
Lets face it, if you had something that was that good, and you had the
opportunity to achieve saturation as good as BG did, wouldn't you go for it?
Or is it the case that they just cant get it right, and they just give you
90% product / capability and 10% marketing?
Fair play to the bloke, he's created a very successful user base from what
he's done, i just cant understand why he dosent go the whole way.

the fact it wants to convert everything over to AAC, is doing my head in. For some reason Itunes also lags quite badly on my laptop.
I got Pioneers new App. for their AV Amps and Blu-ray players. Very funky.

As far as I can tell there are no marked differences between the two versions, you seem to be very knowledgable on the subject, what differences are there?

when I simply right click an .mp3 file a send to a USB device - simple

I've seen loads Mart, but kind of let them slide, I've now started to doubt that there is an issue with iTunes on Windows and you posting misinformation/gossip only affirms my view.

Only if you want them to. iTunes and iPods will play and organise pretty much every commercial format. I have bought albums from Apple, but I've bought a lot more from other record stores. I've never bought or rented a movie from Apple, but iTunes plays every movie I've made.

In my opinion 90% of iTunes problems are user error. The other 10% are computer or, windows compatibility issues. Basically windows 7
Itunes does make it very easy to download all of your music, create and download podcasts, and organise all of your media in one place.
The only thing it lacks for me is downloading in wav, and the restriction rights(being a DJ i transfer from several computers for various reasons, doing nothing illegal but it can lock the music files so they wont work).
Just my 2p's worth.

Funny how you failed to recall that the ipod will not play WMA files
and that movies made via ipod/ itunes will automatically be in quick time,
which is a propriety apple app

I didn't say all formats Mart, that would be nice, but unlikely. And hands up anyone who chooses to create wma files? If anything that would be Microsoft assuming you want to, which is exactly what you're berating Apple for. My movies in iTunes use H.264 you can learn about that here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/M...mplementations and I often use VLC to play them rather than iTunes, iTunes keeps them organised nicely, VLC has a little more volume and some extra controls.
As for trolling, I'm stating facts, you have admitted that you're "only repeating whats posted on here" who's the troll?
p.s. I've just read that iTunes on Windows will play unprotected .wma files.

thats the problem i had, as all my files were WMA. Its not really a problem but more of a pain in the backside waiting for them to be converted over.
The Ipod that I was using, is one we use in work for background music. As this was filled with tracks by headoffice before we got it, when I had to update the software all the tracks were wiped off it. Pretty poor thing to do imo.

No need for a converter if you're a Windows user, it's drag and drop.
Converting WMA Files
In iTunes for Windows, you can convert your unprotected WMA files to AAC files (or whatever file format is chosen in the Importing pane of iTunes Preferences) without changing the original WMA file. Simply drag the WMA files into your library in iTunes and iTunes does the grunt work, converting them for you. Windows Media Player 9 or later must be installed to convert unprotected WMA files. Protected WMA files cannot be converted.

Most likely because WMA is a proprietary Microsoft format that may well require a licence to play. I notice that iTunes requires Microsoft Media Player installed in order to do the conversion, probably relevant.
