H is "Aitch" not "Haitch"
The letter H is properly pronounced "Aitch" not "Haitch". We are not all characters such as the H'Artful Dodger In H'Oliver Twist. This is a personal bug bear but I have noticed that the new Sony advert has the voice over for the new 3D "Haitch" D TV. And Graham Norton has been using "Haitch" on the BBC. Surprisingly my seven and nine year old kids seem to be being taught "Haitch" at school by some teachers. This must stop!

Spelling and grammar is something else again. Many posters don't seem to be able to contract cannot to can't so we often see the like of "I carnt believe........." etc.

"brought" is valid.
"I brought my dictionary with me today."
As opposed to
"I bought a dictionary from a shop."
'fess up - who says brung and thunk?
I live in essex now, so my speech and articulation are ... well somewhere else

As a matter of interest, apart from pronunciation, how do you feel about the word "Problem" being substituted by the word "Issue" when Issue does not even mean the same thing? The same goes for using "Proven" which is an ancient Scottish legal term instead of the word "Proved" which has always been the correct English word.

Does anyone remember when Ayrton Senna suddenly became Eye-airton Senna overnight?
Also Andy Cole metamorphosised into Andrew Cole from one day to the next during the football season. I guess his agent thought it made him sound more intelligent!
