Looking for somewhere to stay in London next week
It's my birthday on Tuesday and as my girlfriend is very good at planning early she's suggested we go to London Monday coming back Thurs (I'm working Friday).
Does anyone have anywhere they can recomend to stay in, or close to, the city centre area that isn't going to cost her much more than £60 or so per night?

lol trust you Swiss.
Where are you going to be going to in town during your stay.
There are a few travelodges about which could keep the cost down. For the budget I would go with something like that.
Battersea is pretty cheap, and transport to all parts are "not bad" from there.

Have a look on www.lastminute.com
There is a thing called "top secret hotels". Basically they tell you the star rating and info on the hotel but not the name. They do however tell the location to the nearest transport (i.e tube station) So it's quite easy to work out which hotel it is from looking on Expedia.
I have used this method a few times and its never let me down. Last time we stayed at the 5* Jumeriah Knightsbridge for £70 and it was top notch

Most of the chains hotels have put their last min prices up.
I've emailed her the suggestions so she can sort it - which means we'll be kipping on the floor of a tube station if her previous organisational efforts are anything to go by!

lol worst case, there are a couple of good underpasses that are warm at night.
Hope you get it all sorted.
Why not just stay on the ourskirts and travel in? Plenty of transport to get you in and out.
All depends on what you are going to be doing, so you are within range.
