Just checking thru my statement today and Have noticed on the 3rd of this month I have a payment for £30 from one of the local petrol stations dating back from the 3rd of May!

Are they allowed to take this long to take cash out of my account? I thought it is generally done within a day or two?

Are you sure that the payment has only been taken once and that it wasn't taken earlier and then a second time - i am paranoid about filling ststions and only pay cash these days.

Im so glad I get a fuel card from work - I've heard too many stories of card fraud linked to petrol stations. Must be something to do with the type of person willing to work for low wage in the middle of the night

Alright Paul, oddly I checked over my statement and I seem to have bought petrol at a different station 2 days later, now I know I drive like a loony bin but even i find it hard to believe i would have went thru £30 in 2days for the mileage i now do.

Again, I have visited said petrol station after the 3rd of May twice and the payment has went out within 2days of the date I apparently bought the petrol, so i can't work out why that the payment for the 3rd has taken so long.

I never pay card at a petrol station any more, I would rather get the cash out of the cash machine first. The only exeption is pay@pump which I think is ok (for now!).

Agreed, my card has been cloned twice in 12 months, both times I am 99% certain it was at a petrol station - always use cash now.
