Default Can anyone recommend any good mini series?

Have watched a few recently, good for getting through night shifts.

Watched Band of Brothers, The Pacific, just gone through Spartacus and loved it, not really sure what else is out there.

Every episode of SG has been done as well as BSG.

Any suggestions guys.

Not mini series but have a look at Chuck & Breaking Bad

Also Rome if you haven't already seen it.

If you liked BSG there is also the spin off Caprica, although im not sure how good this is as I have not watched it myself yet.

I'd forgotten about Caprica, will have to have a look.

Haven't heard of "Rome", I'll have a google.

Give 'House' a go - all 6 series can be picked up for £60.00 (last time i looked on amazon) or so and around 20 episodes per series.

I saw that a couple of years ago, was great, I never understood why they axed it, it was just getting started....when it finished.

Farscape was also a good watch.

Sorry Paul but I think this is the WORST show around . The main character is so unconvincing -his accent is so fake Huw whathesnameblackadderfamewanker.

I'm working my way through MINDER at the moment.
I have seen them before but still many laughs in them -GEORGE COLE is classic as Arthur Daley
For me THE best of British .

Cool

Another vote for V.

I also enjoyed Flash Forward, but unfortunately they canned it after one series, so the cliffhanger at the end of season one leaves you a bit frustrated!

Farscape was also a good watch.
Last time i checked, Farscape was quite expensive for the boxsets, not sure why either.

I really enjoyed Carnivale a few years back, it's well worth looking up. Also agree on Breaking Bad.

I borrowed my Brothers set, he buys a lot of box sets from the USA, well he used to when the exchange rate was more favorable.

Another vote for The Wire. I'm half way through it now and it is outstanding.

There's the usual suspects if you haven't done them already:
Six Feet Under
The Sopranos
The West Wing
....and Deadwood is worth a look too.

These five have to be the best TV Dramas I have ever seen. Long live HBO!

Lost is pretty short. Try that.

I am about to watch sparticus. How does band of brothes compare to pacific? I thought pacific started off good but i lost interest towards the end.

Both good, I prefer Band Of Brothers, felt like you got to know the characters a bit more, if you know what I mean. But both very much worth a watch.

Spartacus was superb, I might even give it another watch.

My Rover Mini Cooper is good. Got the classic shape but with improvements like fuel injection etc.

+100 - Generally described as one of the best series ever made - "it's all in the game"

Other recommendations not already mentioned:

Fringe - Sci-fi (Weird)
Dexter - Dark (Serial Killer)
The Unit - Army (Special Ops)
The Shield - Bad Cop / Worse Cop

Agreed about the Pacific. I liked Tom Hanks narration and the soundtrack but the story was somewhat lacking in character depth in comparison to BoB.

What about Entourage? Series 7 is just about to start but episodes are less than 30 mins each and about 10 or so to a series. One of my favourite shows in recent times.
