Just browsing my Sunday newspaper, looking in to the 'letters' page. As part of a rant about the illegal cigarettes trade someone reckons that a new law should be brought into place, 'making cigarette manufacturers put their products into plain packaging. Black market cigarettes would then be easier to spot because they would not be in plain packages'.

Am I missing something? Do the forgers not have the technology to copy plain packs?

May well have done. Broon's lot think the public at large is so thick we will think cigarettes don't exist if it isn't written on the label.

Apparently, they use plain packing in Australia. I'll bet they don't get any black-market ciggies there then .

Yet another idiotic initiative which would achieve nothing. Bit like allowing pubs to open as long as they like was going to stop the drinking and violence problems!
