Could be pushing your luck, might be counted as an accomplice in the cheat he is using.

To do that he'll need to be on the electoral register which means paying council tax etc. They have to at least exist in this country and chances are the govt already know they aren't here.

Far too much trouble really. They'll just have to move to the area when they get back.

I've got 3 kids and on each occasion the primary school has come round to check on the child and it's development........... and to check the child lives at the given address.

For two occasions I had to check the child was on the church list as well (church of england school).

Not worth it IMHO.

Don't do it.

Just tell your mum that you know they check in your area.

The address is correct at the time of admission....

A failure to keep up to date contact details will be viewed with indifference.

In the "Landlady's" opinion.

HTH

P.S. Charge some "rent" as proof !

But this is just cheating - doesn't this count for anything any more?

I might just think about it for my own kids but for someone I hadn't even met? No way.

I would say no.

1) Firstly its dishonest, though I understand its difficult getting your kids into the right school etc its important to try NOT to take part in morally questionable activities.

2) Maybe that couple should have thought about this before they moved abroad?

3) What kind of people ask somebody they don't know to do something that can potentially get them into trouble? I wouldn't even ask my family/best friends to do such a thing unless I was really really desperate.

Actually I wouldn't just say no, I'd say **** right off!!!!

In my experience in a top ten (Nationally) achieving Inner city slum "school", parents are "busing" kids in from Bradford to keep a place ! ( 15 miles ).

It's rife, and no school has the resources to check 1200 addresses, so given a reasonable behaviour from the kids they'll vanish in the statistics.

To you ?

Absolutely nothing, they could use your details anyway, to get in, and then move elsewhere, citing financial/social reasons.

The "tree huggers" won't then want to move the kids as they will be "settled", bless 'em.

IMHO
