i've done a couple of those 'who should i vote for?' quizzes, like in the telegraph, etc. I have no idea whether the statements are accurate or whether any party will be true to their word (lol), but tory didn't come up in the top 2 for any of them.
I'm going to do some more investigation and actually read the manifestos, but my g/f just doesn't want labour in any more. she doesn't care and is just voting for change.
anyone agree? comments?

In honesty i don't know who I'm voting for. I'm probably gonna have a good read at what parties offer, then realise that its a waste because they are all the same and will all probably ruin the country further.

Bit sad if anyone uses a newspaper quiz to decide their vote? Especially as it's fundamentally flawed - until there's clear accountability to deliver against a manifesto, they're complete works of fiction that can't be trusted.

I really am stuck;
I would be swayed by UKIP but whilst they have more of my interests at heart; the candidates appear to be amatures and unprofessional when it comes to politics. This can be very dangerous when it comes to meddling with our delicate econmy; Would you let a 17year old learner drive a AC Cobra 427? (or an American woman for that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTEvJ2Tl8Ss ).
Also they are too anti EU; whilst I think there are many things we should opt out of the EU on (like we did with the £) and like France does as and when it pleases, I feel we should do the same, only adopt what is in the UK's best interest and reject the rest. Jumping two feet out the EU I feel may not be the best course; Keep one foot in and one foot out.
Conservatives worry me; sractch under the surface and the same moaning old croany back benchers are still there. Just like Labour thirteen years ago. Cameron should have used the expenses row as a good excuse to rid of its undesirables. Also the oik dropping off leaflets walked over our front garden to get to next door.
Lib Dems spend more time criticising the Tories/Cameron instead of getting to the point undermining their own integrity and professionalism.

I think you will find a lot of people out there want to vote but will simply not really understand what each party is actually "promising" to do.
At least the quizzes ask questions that make you think about what is involved and gives you a basis to work on and maybe enquire in more detail about things that each individual is concerned/interested in.
I think this comes back to what the OP was saying, that a lot of people out there won't take the time (or HAVE the time) to go in to detail about what each party is offering/promising, will see that times are hard (whether it's really down to Labour or not) and simply vote for change.

It'll have to be UKIP for me. None of the *big 3 are offering a referendum on the EU so that's them out! As for *being inexperienced* well, you only get experience by *doing* and government ministers have hoards of experienced civil servants to carry out the mundane tasks.

I've just done the telegraph vote match thing. It does scare me how much BNP matches with how i answered...Am i racist?
I feel its more important to read in between the lines with the different policies that each governments will put in place though. UKIP for example say they will raise tax threshold to £11500 p/a, but does that mean over £11500 will be a higher rate?
Where can more details of each party be found?
(newbie voter )

interesting points, but simply wanting change without thought to what that change really means is irresponsible thinking ... imho.
i think my political views are represented by all parties I'll have to plump for the one representing issues most important to me i guess
