Red face UK economic growth unexpectedly revised up to 0.4%

The UK economy emerged from recession in the fourth quarter of last year at a faster pace than previously estimated, official figures have shown.

Data from the Office for National Statistics said the economy grew 0.4% between October and December in 2009.

This was faster than the previous estimate of 0.3% growth during the quarter.

I blame Labour for this set of results ... I'm sure the rest of you do too!!

The office of National Statistics say that 60% of the Government claims are inaccurate, perhaps that includes these figures too?

Yawn!

Default UK economic growth unexpectedly revised up to 0.4%

"Unexpectedly?" What? About a week before they are going to announce an election, and it's revised upwards "unexpectedly"?

HOW gullible are you, Pete

You do realise that we are just as indebted as Greece, which we are told is completed broke and had to be bailed out by France and Germany in order to prevent the Euro collapse.

Sterling has no such saviour and whats more the problems in Greece were only revealed after a change in government and well known corruption. We know our debt is close to that of Greece so imagine what things might be like if our government has massaged the figures - plus we are told our government isn't corrupt so in theory we actually have no excuses whereas Greece has.

The extent of our financial crisis won't be fully realised until after the election. By the end of 2010 I predict the UK will have lost its AAA rating.

Wouldn't -20% be deflation?
