I remember when that one did a fly past and Manchester, this woman was getting all overcome and excited, then her husband pointed out it was a Jumbo and the 380 wasnt due for ten minutes, another bloke was so keen to see it he stood on the roof of his car and ruined it, the tit !
Personally, I think its an amazng aircraft but for me the Jumbo is still the one, so much more graceful looking, 380 just looks like a morbidly obese Airbus.

Emirates have some good aircraft, lots fairly new.
Flew with them to Thailand last Nov and the return flight from Bangkok to Dubai was on the 380, awesome aircraft. Didnt like the 8 hour stopover in Dubai afterwards tho

We saw the very first 747 do a flypast at Omaha years ago and thought it was incredibly large at the time. I have flown the simulator at Cranebank and it is a very fine handling aircraft for its size.
The A380 is immense!

We have about between 5 to 6 take offs and landings a day it's the most graceful thing in the sky and so quiet, I will usually see the EK, SQ and one QF land in he morning as I crawl along in the traffic and often see one take off, so low in the sky as it reaches the water, an awesome sight which you never tire of as you look on in awe and still wonder how the hell it gets off the ground as it ambles down he runway.

there are two pubs at then end of the runway, one called the tatton arms, and one called the airport hotel, that is next to the taxiway, that one is very very close indeed,

MTOW is more like 560t and on departure it makes half the acoustical energy of a 744, but you knew that right?

whoops should keep my mouth shut shouldn't I.
sorry its for future models.
no only kidding its the design MTOW of the wings.
This was designed for the longer brother and the freighter that we are no longer building, thanks fedex
Though you may see a longer version if the Asian standing room only AC gets the thumbs up. circa 800+ passengers. for the -800 and possibly 900 plus for the longer variant
The assembly area is set up for all of the eventualities there is about 10 meters of space.

The QF032 from London burst it's left side tyres on arrival last night, initial reports said the landing gear tyres burt but Aviation News says otherwise.
.
QF engineers this morning said they jacked it up and replaced the tyres and got it off the runway and reckon there was no other damage and will be back in service later today.

A Qantas Airbus A380-800, registration VH-OQC performing flight QF-32 from Singapore (Singapore) to Sydney,NS (Australia), had touched down on runway 16R when the airplane blew a number of tyres during the roll out. The airplane stopped on the runway, the crew requested fire engines to attend the aircraft. Tower reported he had seen some fire from the brakes during the roll out, the fire had stopped however when the airplane came to a halt. No fire or smoke was visible. Another aircraft lining up behind the Qantas reported seeing sparks from the gear and a lot of rubber on the runway. Emergency services reported, that all tyres on the left hand main gear had deflated and the airplane is sitting on the rims.

It is also possibled for some brake pressure to be in the system because it had not exhausted fully earlier. On landing this could cause lock up and tyre burst as well due to overheating. This happened to me once, there was no indication of the residual pressure, it was found later that there was some metal swarf in a brake system valve.

Dont know how many tyres there are on one side, but if only 2 burst than maybe not a brake problem.
Wonder what they mean by "landing gear tyres". Thought they were all for landing and taxying on, or is it the trailing ones on the bogey which touch down first? Wonder what Aviation News says which is different?

When I was a kid we used to go to the Airport pub of a summers sunday afternoon - the pilots used to wave at all the kids
The 380 will be a big bird thats for sure, will be interesting to get some pics as we are about 5 miles short of finals, and on VFR they can come over the house quite low.
Will be great to stand somewhere near Cheadle / Didsbury on a clear day when they are doing 06L take offs as they do a nice big noise abatement turn over the M60 / 56 interchange.

Yes thanks, a good pic and it is difficult to know though whether the two legs in the wing roots are the wheels which touch first and might therefore be called the landing wheels, or whether that applies to the two rear wheel sets which theoretically should touch down first..
We need you to stand by the runway and take a pic of actual touchdown!
