Cost for block paving drive?
Sorry, I know this has been done before but couldn't find it.
Can somebody tell me the cost/m2 for a drive? It will have a hardcore and concrete base, and then good quality block paving. Done by a long established and reputable local firm.
I've been quoted what amounts to £130/m2, but this includes demolishing an old wall and then rebuilding a new high quality one (approx 7m long) and removing a HUGE tree stump
Thanks

Steve, they did come around and have a look, measure up etc.
Kiwi, my quote also includes edging, manhole cover and also rebuilding some steps up to the house (with some additional metal hand rails.)
If its £90/m2 in Aberdeen, then £130/m2 sounds about right in London?

What are you doing about drainage? Since 2008 you need planning permission if you are fitting a non-permeable surface that drains to the public highway or the main drains (even if you are just replacing an existing non-permeable surface). It's only permitted development if you use a permeable surface (which it won't be if you are having a concrete base) or it drains to a soakaway. Ask your builder about this as you could be in a lot of cr*p if he does it without planning permission and one of your neighbours reports you.
I jumped in and got mine done before the legislation changed as it would have been a nightmare afterwards - my drive slopes too steeply toward the house to use a permeable surface (the water pressure would have cracked the drains) and there was no space for a soakaway. The only option would have been to dig a special drainage trench through to my back garden and dig a soakaway there.
