Default Telemarketing calls!

I think i just had the ultimate one of these pain in the *** calls.

Me " hello "

Him " my name is David Jackson " ( in a very strong Indian accent so i doubt thats his real name )

Me " yes can i help "

Him " i would like to ask some question to you "

Me " what about "

Him " just some simple yes or no questions "

Me " yes but what about"

Him " its about nuisance telemarketing calls "

Me " WTF goodbye "

A mate of mine had one of those, "Hello my name is John Smith" in a strong Indian accent.

He asked the bloke, "So what's the Urdu for 'F*ck off' then?"

I think the whole business should be illegal.

We are signed up with TPS and didn't receive these types of call for ages. Just recently though we have started to get some from over seas. No idea how to stop them

Nimbus we are with them as well but are getting more of these type of calls. The other annoying one is some computer voice saying " congratulations ", thats as far as it gets before i hang up.

Coffin dodger i think i will give that a go and just leave the ***** on hold.

International calls do not have to conform to the TPS, which is a right PITA

Been getting fax calls from overseas FPS does not work either

We seem to get quite a few automated ones at the moment. Call usually goes..

"Don't hang up, this is a free..."

Click... Brrrrrrrrr

I know that TPS has no jurisdiction for overseas calls, I guess that's why so many are now moving off shore to get around this. I have considered having BT block and "Number Withheld" callers, though I begrudge paying for this service really..

We get bombarded with them at work. I like pressing 5 to get connected to someone then asking for someone when you are connected, pretend you have the wrong number lol, or any other random thing I can think of.

Get a Panasonic DECT phone as the one I've got has a night mode where it won't ring during the hours you tell it not to. If you have caller ID then you can set up a number group to override this so genuine emergency calls from parents / wives / girlfriends / mistresses etc. will not be missed
