Loads of birds in Oxford!
Just been to Oxford for a couple of days and the M40 from Junction 9 south has loads of birds on it. Amazing - saw a dozen really close and low to the motorway within about five miles. Really amazing birds as seen in this great video from the BBC
Red Kites
We have a few up in Yorkshire but nowhere near as many as this!

Jamie - I haven't stolen anything I have linked it to a tourism website. Didn't see too much news on it.
PS Where do you think I have 'stolen' it from that makes you so unhappy?

They're Red Kites. They used to be extinct in the UK but some were released into the wild in the Chilterns in the early 90s and they have thrived ever since. They are everywhere round here now, I often see them hovering over my back garden in High Wycombe or on the golf course. They are huge when you see them up close, over 5 ft wingspan.

I heard a massive thud on my kitchen window this afternoon, only upon investigation did I see a Sparrow Hawk ripping apart its victim on the garden.
It stared straight into my eyes like as if it wanted to rip my head clean off!
Then it took off over the houses with it's tea!

Now thankfully a thriving species.
Guess who got dragged round countless bird reserves as a kid

It's the morning, flicks bait away with the tail!
Still no clue what 'Blancmange this' Jamie is on about! I am obviously not down with kids as I don't know what 'blancmange this' means!
Or indeed anything else he was posting. Or maybe he just has ornithophobia.
Anyway - aren't Red Kites amazing birds!

Apart from all the nonsense, its a lovely bird, Friend of mine in Lincs says they have a good few there too. Glad to see they are flourishing.
We have a good population of Buzzards around here and they are also a very good looking bird. Our local one sits on our telegraph pole and its a delight to see him.

Trout look at this
TRIFLE
A trifle is a dessert dish made from thick (or often solidified) custard, fruit, sponge cake, fruit juice or, more recently, gelatin, and whipped cream?
#4 Cream

Those Kites really have flourished. I was down that way yesterday (M40, High Wycombe area) and also saw loads.
It was also a great day for car-spotting on the motorway round there: I saw my first Ferrari 458 Italia, two Ferrari Californias, a Spycker and an Alpine Renault A610.
