Estate Agents - watch out!

Estate Agents - watch out!
TESCO is in town and gunning for you!!
A cheap online estate agency service is being launched with the backing of the Tesco supermarket group.
The estate agency Spicerhaart is launching the new website iSold.com, initially aimed at sellers and buyers in the Bristol area.
Tesco will advertise the service to users of its own website.
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) recently called for the establishment of more innovative online estate agency services to help drive down prices.
"We are offering a full estate agency service without the High Street presence," said Steve Shore of iSold.
The online service will have two key features.
All dealings with both sellers and buyers will be conducted online or via the phone, with the overall business being kept separate from the Spicerhaart outlets in the High Street.
And instead of the standard estate agency fees, of between 1.5% to 2% of the selling price, a basic online selling service will cost £999.
As well as being advertised on the iSold website, homes for sale will also be advertised on property portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla.
Neither iSold nor Tesco would divulge the nature of the commercial agreement between them.
Good news for all buyers and sellers of property ..... role it out Nationwide, Tesco

When TESCO step into a market you just know it's a general rip-off market they can exploit.
Look at the opticians - TESCO are pretty much cleaning up there.
Clothes ... I buy a washable suit there for about £20 ... great for work, nice cut, cheap as chips.

You're getting ripped off Pete. Saw one in Lidl for £14 the other week. Get yourself down there and save some more of your pension money!!

Nah, they wont make it big... Asda tried a similar thing a few years back and have failed.
Theres just too many people that when buying a house want to deal face-to-face with the agent... the majority of buyers through Tesco's will problies be investers, and theres not many of them around these days!
Fair play to them though, they will run the universe in the next few years like as they've got more fingers in more pies than... well, someone with alot of fingers and pies.

A few years ago it was a very different playing field ..... legallities and such meant that Tesco and Asda had to pull out - not now though!!
The thought of those shiny suited Estate Agents having to get a proper job is rather compelling

What kind of job do you do where you can pitch up in a £20 suit??
Also what do you mean by a washable suit? Aren't all suits washable? Do you mean you stick it in the washing machine and then iron it?????
