Have a look at The Complete iPhone v.4 Rumor Roundup - Iphone4g - Gizmodo then decide what's in and what's out.
Place your bets.
I'm putting a pound on the multitouch case making it in, my iPhone could be my Magic Mouse right now.

TBH, I couldn't give a ****.
My private N85 does more than I need and I like it.
My works Blackberry lets me take pics, record crimes, search the police national database, look-up previous jobs which are linked to any I attend, and a lot more than anyone outside of the police would need.
iPhone? If it was that kgood, we'd have been given them instead of Blackberry's. After we've spent a quarter of a million £s on developing a platform, I cant see us switching to the iPhone.
As much as I don't like the Blackberry, I can't see the iPhone offering anything advantageous. What can the new/next one do that would benefit me?

Can't wait.
A higher res screen, LED flash for the camera (upped to 5mp) and a front camera for vidchat/webcam function.
My 3GS will be a year old in June so hopefully the new one will be out/announced by then

My iPhone works perfectly as a phone
I'm an ex-blackberry user, and while I liked my blackberry - as a "private" user, the iPhone is streets ahead. I accept that for business use, the increased flexibility RiM provides over Apples "don't you dare touch ANYTHING!" obviously provides its benefit in that environment.
My personal take - as someone who carried their iPod everywhere with them. The iPhone is the only device I now carry on me with a good headset. It is the first time where internet browsing on the move actually makes sense to me (although it's not perfect and I would never claim it is - but then neither is any other handset out there right now..).
The one thing that underlined how good a design and handset the iPhone is was when I gave it to my 64 year old Mum to have a play with. She's had a mobile for years but has always suffered from the fear of "breaking it" - within a few minutes she was tapping and sliding her way through the interface doing all of the things that would have took me months to have taught her on a conventional handset. While some techno-elitists might laugh at that and whine about Apple not supporting the latest Alpha-Nine-87 Sub-level web interfacing language - or some other nonsense thats irrelevant to 99% of the human race; the bottom line is that the iPhone is a very good handset with an extremely good user interface.
What would I like to see the new iPhone have? Increased storage at decreased price, a better camera, support for java (kinda essential although I understand the security concerns).

It will be nothing groundbreaking hardware wise is my guess
Larger capacity, a better camera with flash, it will slightly taller but not wider with a video/chat facility and a better screen. Faster processor etc
Apart from that the changes will be in the OS
My one gripe is in the mail client. I want to be able to select multiple emails and delete

the 4gs is at least a year away at the moment apple are concentrating on their new tablet at the moment.
i think they have lear'nt their lesson about poor battery life though it's roumered it will have a removable one.
i wanted to go for the i phone but point blank refuse to pay for a handset, get stuck in a 2 year contract and have a poor deal regarding mins from the network.
i went for the new nokia n900 and it's fantastic completly different now they have ditched the symbian system and a full proper mozilla web browser, oh and the biggest thing i've had it 2 weeks and still on the first one. it's worth a look.

I can do without the camera having flash as I have a much cheaper alternative than using my i phone.
I don't like the idea of wapping out my i phone to take pics in a dark and possibly busy environment.

As Jack said....
That said, you will probably find that both iPhone and Blackberry browsers will handle secure payment sites, to pay your FPN online, so in theory, yes you can do that lol

As for the spec of the new one, im guessing they will add a few things that people have been calling out for over the generations, the multi touch case does indeed look interesting but not sure about its value as a function. Live and learn eh.
I would also assume a few more mega pixies could be rammed in there for the camera, and the AMOLED screen. Or maybe thats too many jumps in one go?

I'm still running with my Magic Mouse idea, why not add a laser to the front and multitouch on the back. If there's space for a front camera there's space for a laser. The dimensions of the mouse and the iPhone are similar, the increased height of the mouse could allow a larger battery and a better lens. Charging turns it into a wired mouse, simple.
That's enough for now, I just found myself holding my mouse to my ear

I think the biggest hurdle they have to overcome and the one thing at the top of my wish list is the multitasking. If they improve the processor (no they wont use the A4 inhouse one yet) and tweak the architecture then I dont see why not.
