What is the best Radar Detector at the moment?

Most definately the Valentine One.
Awesome piece of kit and it'll tell you what direction the threat is as well as how many cameras so you can tell on M'ways if its picking up the camera on the opposite side of the gantry or on your side.

I have a Snooper (approx £200) used it for a while but then it gave so many false alarms that it wasn't worth using!
Radar detectors pick up burgular alarm signals, traffic light radar (to detect traffic), and many others things.
Also if plods are using handheld laser chances are you won't detect it until it too late. Most police cars don't use any radar or laser devices either.
I found it better to just be more aware when driving.
Hope this helps.

I've had most of the regular brands over the last few years.
Valantine one on paper is the best £600-£700.
BUT,
For day to day driving within "fairly " reasonable excess speeds ,if you must - ;0) , the Bel 990 i (now re badged the 550 Euro, is more than enough. Great gatso range, ample lazer pick up and if set up correctly virtual no false alarms. Only thing they don't pick up is SPECCS (new motorway timing device)

Agree with Scottdg... I have a Bell 990i... haven't been through a specs so dunno if it works.
interesting that your's does. I have left mine on factory settings so it picks up everything, including supermarket doors.
The Godessey looks very good and the Bluei etc.. but they only tell you the fixed camera's by GPS.. as it knows the position.
This is very good but it tells you it is there, even when it is switch off.. it won't pick up tempory cameras in road works or layby police cameras, or pick up police radar / laser if there is a road side whatsit.
The Bell give me a fair warning.. I think the Laser is not as good because it is difficult to detect. As it is either pointed at you or not, where as radar scatters and is picked up when say the car is front is sapped.
