I am after a new watch as I havent bought one in years and was looking at a £200 budget really. I am basing my purchase on looks if I'm being honest but will of course try to try one on 1st!

Can anyone give me an opinion as I like the look of this one. Its on sale on Amazon for £150 i think.

I have a Rotary watch somewhere, from when they were reasonably decent. That was quite a while ago now and they havent been made in Switzerland for a long time. Current Rotary watches a pastiches of better known brands and Id avoid most of their cheap quartz-actioned Chinese products now IIWY.

For your £200 budget you can just about buy an automatic Tissot, and whilst I accept that theyre a shadow of their former selves and that theyre pushing the 'Swiss' laws as far as they can; theyre still decent watches.

Yoza would recommend a Poljot. I would then point out that a Poljot was a Sekonda. This would **** Yoza off, but he would eventually concede that it was the same company (First Moscow Watch Mfg. Co. or somesuch).

Poljot struggle with supply but you might find something that you like. Seiko should be able to tempt you (although youll have to import as the concessionaires here only import tat/bling and they massively over-charge), as should Tissot.
