It's a myth with any pain relief down to a placebo effect. I think there was a recent paper on it recently.

If you think its going to hurt, it usually does.
If you are not expecting it, it never hurts as bad.

Yesterday i noticed i had cut my hand, no idea how, but i was dribbling blood on the desk at work, i had not even noticed it, if i take a blade now and chop the other one, its going to hurt like hell

don't really know if it works but I know two people who have broken their wrists whilst wearing them and the fracture lines correspond to where their bracelet is normally worn

Not a myth at all.

There was a case about 12 years ago where it was suggested that a woman put some magnets in a horse blanket - her horse suffered from something that the vet couldn't help with, but he suggested that these may help. Apparently the horse wasn't told about the magnets in it's new blanket, so there's no way it's a placebo effect.

I used to supply magents (ferrite and NbFeB) to the manufactures (Bioflow/Ecoflow) before they moved their factories overseas. They had a speil about how they worked, but TBH I don't think they actually knew themselves! However there are lots of people out there using magnetic/copper pain relief and it does appear to work.

Do you have access to facts which have proved it is not true?

"... researchers from the universities of York, Hull, Durham, along with the NHS, found there was no difference in symptoms whether patients wore magnetic straps or de-magnetised ones"

"They tested out a commercially available magnetic wrist strap, a weak magnetic wrist strap, a de-magnetised wrist strap and a copper bracelet."

"No difference was found in terms of their effect on pain between the four devices, with similar results found for joint stiffness and need for medication.

Stewart Richmond, of York University, who led the trial, said: 'It appears that any perceived benefit obtained from wearing a magnetic or copper bracelet can be attributed to psychological placebo effects."

I can get hold of some snake oil for you Les ...

Thanks for that TX, I wouldn't argue, was just interested. Maybe my friends were fooled then.

I have got some 13 year old "Snake Oil" already thanks, just nicely aged and I am trying, not very successfully, to make it last for a bit!
