Tweeters stuck to metal door panel - MY00?
#1
Seemed natural to me, to stick the tweeters to the metal door panel, using some blutac + the natural magnet. They are pretty close to the grill on an MY00.
Anyone think this will affect the sound at all?
cheers,
Greg

Well, me for one because you're compromising the magnet's efficiency...
You're still welcome to pop round and we'll look at another way to fit 'em in there? Drop me a line.
If anyone thinks I'm talking pooh, let me know?
Nick.

As Nick says, you'll compromise the magnet's performance having it stuck to steel. Have a go at sticking the tweeter to the back of the little plastic grille with whatever works best, hotmelt glue is usually good as when you want to recover your tweeters when you sell the car, it peels back off again. If you do stick them to the rear of the tweeter grilles, you may find it useful to trim off any surplus plastic extrusions whatever so the tweeter fits as close to the front of the little grille as possible.

Might try to glue mine to the back of the tweeter grill. At the moment they are stuck with blu-tak - seems to be mainly that and little magnetic attraction though. Nick please advise what you are thinking, cos I am in Scotland, and although you haven't invited me (!) it' still a long way to come...

Hi John
Before I refitted onto the triangle bits, I simply (carefully) hot-glue'd the edge of the tweeter into the back of the standard mount.
Greg lives only a few miles away, hence the offer. Next time you're passing, nip in
