Question Vodka Blackberry

I've got a free u/grade going begging, so the only thing I can think of doing is getting a Bold 9700 on the same tariff as currently, then swapping the SIM from my works BB and using that for data/phone and keeping my existing sim in it's little SE702 which is perfect for what I want.

Work won't u/grade my phone and I'm getting a bit tired of the Pearl I have - predictive text is doing my suede in....

So, the question I have is, will I be able to use my O2 (work) SIM in my new Voda BB Bold or will I have to get it unlocked? Voda is normally unlocked in my experience. Or will it prove impossible?

Not impossible, unlocking is very possible indeed. However I have not looked into the mechanics of it. Dont think its terribly hard though.

9700, good choice Definatly will enjoy it after having a pearl lol

I think Voda BB's always come locked, but as Snaz posted it's easy to unlock for a small fee.

You won't be dissapointed with the 9700, it's an absolutely fantastic phone.

Which brings me to a dilemma...
2 upgrades due soon. Do I ditch my lovely 8520, with B0bb PIN number, (aka Bob the Berry) or stick with it, and get some other toys to play with instead lol.

Decisions decisions.

Newer OS, slightly smaller screen, double the RAM (makes a nice difference im told, did on mine), 11g lighter, support for larger memory card, and longer battery life.

Most people who have done the step up are happy, a few not.

I made some Blackberry Vodka. Started drinking it over Christmas as it had matured for just over a year. Very nice it is too.

Not sure what it has to do with mobile phones mind

lol its not £1000 for a handset is it, its 24 months of service.

**** me, hold on how much is the monthly tariff !! Haha
Mine is only £19 a month on the 24 month contract, so less that 480. So what £40+ a month?

Ouch, thats a mighty painful tariff ya have there lol.
Im paying less than that for 2 free Blackberry's, both on BIS, with about 1000 mins and unlimited texts between them lol.

Im assuming you get massive talk time etc for that ?

As for what the service costs them, there is still a market, so the price on the mins/texts/BIS all has an official value

Seems to be fine at the moment.

It might be faulty or have a faulty SIM as sometimes it loses phone connection to the network though it hasn't done that for a couple of days now.

Otherwise it's fine - 2 days+ out of the battery with WiFi & Bluetooth on all the time and with me looking at it/playing with it loads.

I find the browser a bit fiddly though and some things (that I use often) don't display how I would expect/like.

Well keep in mind you can use Page view or Column view from options when browsing.
And if you want a different experience all together, Bolt Browser
Download that, and see how you get on.

There is always Mini Opera too

Good battery life, im liking that a lot.
Although even good battery life gets a caining with this lot on the BBM group going on all day lol

It's a superb phone, the best I've had, and I have owned a few over the years.

Don't forget to upgrade to a newer firmware, the version shipped with mine was a bit sluggish, I'm on 442 now and a new leak is due any time.

I also think this item is essential (not necessarily this seller) -

I only have screen protectors on mine, not bothered about the housing so much.
Mine in reference to all the Berry's I have had.
Just think the cases make them just the little bit too bulky, for me anyway.

Wonder what mine will be shipped with, cant wait to see and play

The gel case is surprisingly thin, but offers very good protection, and although slightly bulkier than a skin, it doesn't get wrenched off when your phone is tucked into your jean pockets.
