I don't see why its **** as you say. Probability says we cannot be the only living things in existance. Doesn't have to be a carbon based lifeform like us.

It has never occurred to me to believe that there is no other form of life in existence besides what exists on this planet of ours.

This is a pretty cool photo of earth (the tiny blue/white dot!!)

Taken by one of the Voyager space craft, we have extended out quite far so far simply by throwing things out from the planet, if what i read is correct, they are still funtioning and still sending back information/results.

IIRC in 5 years time we will have a probe flying past pluto, simply to have a good old look at it properly.
Amazing.

Just the general tabloid aspect to the story with the helpful and scientific photo.
The article is 95% an interview with someone before a scientific meeting to discuss the issue, with no other input or information.
I think the BBC should be better than that - otherwise, what is it's point?

Amazing.
Indeed they are:

Voyager - The Interstellar Mission

Both have now got past the solar systems heliosphere, and answered some more questions. Who said it was a bad thing equiping them with power supplies powered by uranium, you wouldn't get solar power to work too well at the distance there at now
