I don't see why its **** as you say. Probability says we cannot be the only living things in existance. Doesn't have to be a carbon based lifeform like us.

This is a pretty cool photo of earth (the tiny blue/white dot!!)
Taken by one of the Voyager space craft, we have extended out quite far so far simply by throwing things out from the planet, if what i read is correct, they are still funtioning and still sending back information/results.
IIRC in 5 years time we will have a probe flying past pluto, simply to have a good old look at it properly.
Amazing.

Just the general tabloid aspect to the story with the helpful and scientific photo.
The article is 95% an interview with someone before a scientific meeting to discuss the issue, with no other input or information.
I think the BBC should be better than that - otherwise, what is it's point?

Voyager - The Interstellar Mission
Both have now got past the solar systems heliosphere, and answered some more questions. Who said it was a bad thing equiping them with power supplies powered by uranium, you wouldn't get solar power to work too well at the distance there at now
