Default MOT question

mate going for his mot soon so we were looking over the car,
his battery isnt tied down but is in its tray thing will this fail had a look at some mot test sheets online and it doesnt say anything about this?

Police would deem it unroadworthy at the roadside. I always thought MOT's DID check this.

its down to the tester at th end of the day id just get 1 or just tie it down with sum bungee cord lol

Get the proper clamp and do it properly.

More easily you could buy a luggage tie-down strap from a pound shop and secure it with that.

Yup, has to be secure for an mot.

I would just get the proper clamp and be done with it.

hi ya just spoken to a mate who's an mot tester he says that
an insucure battry is a fail !!! if the vehicle was in a crash it
could come lose spark and cause a fire ,,,, or he said something
like that,,,,, hope this helps

Using the original part if always preferred, but if you dont have it then a strap will certainly secure it, assuming that there is provision for securing it.

It needs to be secure for obvious safety reasons. You need to ensure it could not fall out of the tray if the car was inverted.

could arc off bonnet going over a bump, crash ect
