I know they cant be specific about the intel that raised the level.
But I love the way they say, "we have intelligence to make us believe that an attack is likely, and would ask the public to be on their guard and keep alert"..... But we aint gonna give you the slightest clue what to watch out for in particular lol

we have been instructed to wear civvie tops when we are driving to and from camp/barracks so we cant be recognised as forces.was told a week ago so something is definately going on.we have had lads being followed from camp to their homes up country.

Anyway, the flight is to France, and we all know EVERYONE hates the French lol
An update though, they have released a photo-fit of the guy they are looking for.

We need to Fukk their **** up once and for all. Can't be doing with all this - Let's just sort it out - Moratorium for Pakistan / Afghanistan etc for 1 month. Then erase them off the map.

Being admittedly cynical of any announcement made by these drongos, I can only assume that it is yet another announcement made in an effort to take our attention off this completely dysfunctional government before the coming election!
Why on earth make such a frightening announcement and what is the Public expected to do about it anyway?
They are all fighting each other now and cannot make any sensible kind of a decision.

Raising the level, but cant say why or whats expected. Asking the public to be on the look out, just starts a little panic, with people becoming paranoid, and every bin bag spotted on the street ending with 999 calls, road closure, travel delays etc.
At the end of the day I would say the average person out there with a little bit of savvy is already on their guard and knows what to do if they see something genuine out of place.
Not to say its a ploy for one second, even though it is a great distraction each time. And how can you trust the ethics of a group of people who saw 7/7 as a "good day" to announce something they didnt want noticed.
Either way, the raising of the threat has achieved to hit the media hard, cause some paranoia, but changed nothing for the average person. Certainly not for me (other than annoying me)

I can assure you that the threat level is raised so that a plethora of security protocols can be introduced across the UK to prevent some ***-head attempting to kill a few Brits..... the Security Services (not a political party) will have intelligence that suggests an attack is being prepared, we may or may not know the target, but I for one am glad our lot are on their toes.
Another bonus is that if you miss your flight we won't have to hear what appendage you've now damaged, how you now can't work properly due to the injury, months and months of medical reports on the injury and a few bonus threads on how you've now fallen out with everyone you went on holiday with!
But if you do go and somehow managed not to get blown up mid-flight by a mad islamic nutter.... then have a great time!

I dont doubt for one second there is a lot of work by respectable people behind the scenes.
But THAT is where the threat level belongs. Not starting a load of panic in society, which it always does, and giving politicians a great platform to start attacking each other and spouting bull.
