Give someone an empty car park and scoob in this weather, and regardless of who can drive, it will still be a shed load of fun!

I agree though, if you can't drive in th snow, then stay in the house. The problem is that some people think they are good drivers when in actual fact they are crap.

The ones who can really drive are those who can control a car at very high speeds on wet or dry roads in full blooded slides etc doing the sort of thing that you might try at 15 mph on snow!

I have never had chance to 'test' the scooby out until last week. I got to school early to pick my son up, and it was great!

Too bloomin' right!

Mr P was not overly impressed when I told him. My response was...
'I have to know my limits in this weather, and it was good for me to learn how the car drives in the snow, and how I should react should it start snapping about when on the road.'

I haven't had it 'snap about' though as I drive her safely, but it stopped him moaning at me!

I got sick of slithering around in crappy cars so got a range rover today but the bloody thing has massive pimp rims and summer tyres so is still pretty crap in the snow and ice.
I now have 2 range rovers one with a blown up engine, 2 vectra's 1 with a dodgy ecu 1 MGTF sport 160 1 hyundai tragic 1 ford escort diesel a vauxhall zafira and none of them are any good in the snow. If anyone wants to buy a car let me know I cannot cope with all the keys and log books.

LOL I'm more than happy to try and sling the car sideways anywhere, love it!! Use dthe work Ice skating Rink AKA the car park as a testing ground today with some crakcing results and the hugest smile EVER.... Got out of the car and still felt like I was sliding around LOL

I LOVE my car and can say I wouldn't leave Subaru ownership again and I'm glad it's not an Evo.... They can't possibly have this much fun with their trick diffs :P

Not such a good idea when your mum is in the passenger seat. (as per my case)

Empty car park + AWD too much of a temptation to resist - worth the ear bending though

My mum knew me too well too even get in the car under those conditions. If I tried it with Mrs Leslie in the car it would be no talk and cold breakfast for a week!

Nothing like an empty car park in the snow to keep you amused for as long as you can get away with it! It is a good idea to learn just how the car behaves for when you get back on the road with it too.

2000 V range rover 4.0 se 120k green leather usual stuff on it, lost all compression in the cylinders possibly due to a water pump failure. Everything working perfectly until it went pop.

Think yourself lucky. In Australia, where it dosen't snow much (In Sydney that is), they still can't drive.

I miss the snowy/icy driving in the UK.

The 4.0L engine is a stroked 3.5 Rover V8. After stroking, it's just undersquare (I think). The 4.6 was well stroked and very undersquare, and not as nice as the 4.0L engine. Of course, the 3.5L V8 can be expaned to 5.0L with just a change of heads and crank.

I find it hard to believe you had complete compression failure on all 8 cylinders with a pump failure. But it is a Land Rover after all. I had the marzipan shaft between the main and transfer gearboxes fail within the 1000Km run-in period on my band new 1994 Disco.
