Leading scientist Dr A F Gison said not to worry too much as there's a better chance of Liverpool FC winning the premier league than this event wiping out the Earth and we all know that's not going to happen

"Anytime soon"

Soon. There is a supervolcano under Yellowstone Park that is overdue and can go anytime soon, could be tomorrow, or 50,000 years soon

Quote:
A new study shows the star, called T Pyxidis, is much closer than previously thought at 3,260 light-years away - a short hop in galactic terms.

And exactly how many 000's of years would the blast take to travel those 3,260 light years?

More journalistic cr@p.

The cool thing is, that if the blast travelled at light speed, and the blast happened 3260 year ago, the Earth could be blasted tomorrow and we wouldn't know anything about it or have any warning.

Sleep well children.

You know what? I am getting heartedly sick of all these bloody variations on how we're all going to die.

It's an obsession at the moment: comets / meteors / climate change / supernovae / volcanoes / earthquake / floods / whateverthehellelsetheycanthinkof.

For crying out loud. Give us a flaming break and try LIVING life rather than speculating on how "it's all going to end"

...and breathe....
