Default Whoo-hoo snow day!

Just got home from work as they sent all the apprentices home at dinnertime due to the snow fall. I said I wasn't bothered about going home as I'm under 2 miles away, but they had to factor in the guys from out of town where some motorway junctions are closed and the guys on bicylces/gopeds.

Can't be left alone in the workshops so hesitantly sulked to the car

Anyone else get a flyer or not make it at all. It's about 2 inches here and still snowing lightly.

No snow here yet. I was the only mug to make it in when it snowed on thursday/friday the week before xmas. Won't be doing that again as everyone that stayed at home got an extra days holiday whereas I stayed at work until 3pm!

Even TNT didn't turn up, so anything that I sold that day, couldn't go out anyway.
This country needs to get a fecking grip and learn to live with such conditions. Many other countries do!

Aye, it's a job for starts and will hopefully lead to better things.

Got told by work that if it's genuinely dangerous to drive tomorrow, not to bother going in

But to be fair I'm in the workshops all day tomorrow so pending the heating works, I may struggle in That and my Mrs needs taking to work even earlier than me!

We have just introduced a New policy here.

If you can't make it into work either you have 2 choices:

1) Work from home (Remote Desktop)
2) Take Annual Leave

I was hoping to get news that my son's school would be closed. Nothing so far.

I have no problem driving there, it's just all the muppets on the school yard who couldn't drive an elephant down an ally that **** me off! A bit of snow and they all drive like idiots making it much worse.

Lol. It's not so much that, but the WaG's who can't seem to understand abs.
I remember doing my test and good old Frank teaching me cadence breaking, something I thought was standard as it was only a few years ago. But I think it was because at the time, I was driving a Fiesta that I bought for £50 and only had 4 gears!

The WaG's just drive about looking petrified and praying that the teeny bit of snow will melt by the pm school run.

Big 4x4 drivers are so insulated from the outside world in their radio 4 chariots, that they have no idea, unfortunately.

I've done it myself. Jumped in my mates Landy and felt i could just drive over anything...

Just saw some bloke in the biggest Audi off roader doing like a million point turn in a narrow road, instead of just going round the block.

just be on "Numpty Alert" and have one eye on your rear view mirror !!

I had considered walking there, but that would just be mental as I live a 5 min drive in the car, or easily 30 minute walk.

Started hers on the south coast at about 7pm.

Still going now...

Side roads are fun main roads are okish...

nice to see the stream of cars at 5mph, when a bit of common sense could

see them moving considerably faster

(should this mean ive got to do some obligatory donuts later )

My car is still stuck at home. Too low to get anywhere in the snow. Dont fancy being a snow plough.

Had a snow day yesterday but managed to get a lift into work today.
