Should we expect our Prime Minister to have integrity?
A release to the press by Downing Street (approved by Gorden?)
"Mr Brown had agreed with Mr Obama to launch a new initiative to thwart the Al Qaeda group responsible for the attack on Christmas day. Amongst the initiatives the PM has agreed with President Obama is US - UK funding for a special police unit in Yemen. Plans had been discussed in a series of phone calls since the failed plot"
It now transpires that Gordon has not spoken to Obama since the incident, and that the claims have 'upset' senior American officials who 'rubbished' the Downing Street claims. The counter terrorism force in Yemen has been operating foe several months.
Gordon was embarrasingly forced to admit that the claims were untrue on Andrew Marrs sunday morning programme.
Shouldnt we expect the truth from our Country's leader? What can we believe? Sadly its called spin and not lying.

We should expect integrity from our elected representatives. Of course, our current leader wasn't elected though, so he can lie all he wants, much like all the others !
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. ... God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion; what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms." -- Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, 1787

In answer to your question, an emphatic, "NO!"
I need our PM to lie, cheat and spin his way through the job - as long as it benefits the UK and its population - to think otherwise is naive and ideological claptrap.

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
