Question Long Shot - but here goes ....

Got a nice SONY X Series Walkman for Xmas:-

Sony NWZX1060B X Series 32GB MP4 Walkman with WiFi: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Also got the Video Recording Cradle:-

Sony VRC-NW10 Video Recording Cradle: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Tried using my LG Plasma TV's EPG Record function to signal the Walkman/Cradle to record. No luck!

The TV is a 42LG1DA and the instructions say that a signal is sent to the DTV Output of the TV, on Pin 8, to signal an external device to start recording according to the instructions set on the EPG of the TV.

I have connected the SONY Video Cradle to the TV via Scart to the DTV connector. It will record the TV program being watch, if the Rec. button on the cradle is pushed ....... but will not respond to a record signal from the EPG.

Effectively, the most useful function of the cradle (that of recording by timer) is null and void - which makes the cradle a very expensive charger!

Anyone got a SONY Bravia TV and can tell me what output is sent from the EPG on that TV? And which Pin number on the Scart is the signal sent?

As I said, long shot .... but someone may know?

Is there some kind of set-up programme on the EPG which may allow the commands to go to the right place?

Hi Les

Tried just about everything ... it may, just simply, not be compatable with the SONY - SONY do have a reputation of going their own way and ignoring compatability issues, if they didn't produce such good items they would go bust!

Yes ok Pete, I have not got anything like that anyway so I can't think of any other way to try.

Same sheep that went for VHS !

I am sure that is a decent music player, and I used to be anti Apple, using a Touch got me hooked, superb device, brilliant browser, all the apps, can the Sony time your car accurately over the quarter mile ?, can it play games, can it be used as a light sabre

I buy a MP3 Player for superb music playback - SONY delivers that, iPOD doesn't.

I did buy a BETA Video Recorder from SONY too ..... just as the world opted for the inferior VHS!

I tend to go for the best, I don't follow the crowd.
