The weekly TOP GEAR thread + why different times ?
Why is the normal show on at 8-30pm tonight yet the HD show comes on at 10-30 pm ?
Ive looked on BBC HD and their isn`t any live event on before, its just some antiques programmes. Strange one as the HD programme has been on at the normal time previously.

I suppose they've got to try something to make it interesting these days
Is this the episode where Compo Clarkson, Cleggy Hammond and Foggy May race bathtubs down a hillside, and the guest is Nora Kidd in some wrinkled stockings
Truthfully, they review two more £100k niche cars which hardly anyone will ever own, race airport service vehicles, and for once there's a review of a car some normal people might buy, which will no doubt be a complete farce as Jezza shows us how it handles in a sewer and jumps it off a pier into the sea ! I'd rather watch 3+ year old episodes on Dave

Ooh, actually they're reviewing TWO realistic cars this week
The SIARPC is Guy Ritchie, who supposedly destroyed FOUR cars setting his average lap time

They always do that. At the start of each split screen section both cars start at the same point, rather than at the same point in time. It shows you the difference between each car as it takes the corner. rather than how far ahead one is compared to the other (and also allows for some suspense at the end of the lap).

I was impressed with the times for the SUV's. The Q7 was only 0.1s off Jezza's SL55AMG in the wet. The mighty X5M was faster than the wet time for the Carrera S, and matched the dry times for the Evo X and Z4
The Twingo review should have been more of a comparison to the Arbath with a bit less Clarkson silliness. I think they were just trying to re-do the Fiesta review from last season, but re-did it too well in that it was virtually identical, and therefore annoying and a bit boring. A lap time from them both would have been good too.
I'd have dropped the airport racing bit as they have done things similar to that soooooo many times before. The VXR group tested against its peers would have gone a little way to guiding the show back towards its glorious past IMHO.
Guy Ritchie was a waste of time. No interest in cars whatsoever ! And the news was a bit flat tonight too. However, I enjoyed this more than any of the other three this series, as it was mostly about cars, not cocking about.

For the first time, I watched something else instead.
It used to be quality time shared with my little lad, but it seems to have no redeeming qualities, this series.

I liked the Twingo review to an extent but the rest was pretty boring and that's the first time I've really thought that about TG (except of course the Star With Something To Plug) section which should have been ditched ages ago!

I`m neither a liker or hater of top gear but that show last night was hideous and boring, what a waste of tax payers money.
Who gives them the budget to write off all those airport trucks apart from ther tax payer, who has the last say on spending ?
I could tell it was going to be a bad show from the start as the birds behind Clarkson wern`t the usual standard, one looked like a female bouncer.
