Spotting scopes - recommendations please
Hi folks, I'm after a spotting scope to look at stuff like ships and other interesting terrestrial things from my window I guess I'm after a fairly wide field of view as opposed to massive magnification but need something a bit better than my Canon 10 x 30 IS binos.
The budget is around £250 which is to include a tripod (ideally one that I could also use with my camera) and I'll probably want to do a bit of digiscoping at some point so compatibility with a camera fixing gizmo would be good.
There seems to be a huge range of scopes out there and they all claim to be the best
I think an angled scope would best suit my needs (and back ) so what should I be looking at?
Cheers
Sal

Sal, any decent camera tripod with a decent head (and adapter plate) will swollow most of that budget.
As for scopes themselves, have a look at Kowa, Opticron and Nikon, Swarofski (sp).
A good place to look is these guys. I got my opticron bino's from there.
In focus - binoculars, telescopes, tripods & digiscoping They have a shop in London Colney and you can try them out.
Like all good glassware, the more you spend, the better you get. Your wish to do digiscoping is gonna push the price up considerably.
