Default TomTom Traffic Help

I am looking for a new sat nav and have had a Tomtom one before so i will most likely buy another as they seem to work well.

I currently drive 20k a year and like the idea of the traffic option but am not sure if it's worth buying £7 a month for. I understand you can have the hd traffic which you have to pay for or the rds traffic which comes free with the sat nav i am looking at.

As anybody got either and what do you think.

These are the 2 i am interested in. Buget is £200

TomTom One IQ T Sat Nav - UK & ROI from Halfords Was £169.99 Save £20.00 Price £149.99 Web Offer! Extra 10% Off ALL Sat Nav over £125. Discount applied in basket. (Excludes clearance lines) Rds traffic

TomTom XL Live IQR Sat Nav - UK & ROI from Halfords Was £199.99 Save £20.00 Price £179.99 Web Offer! Extra 10% Off ALL Sat Nav over £125. Discount applied in basket. (Excludes clearance lines) hd traffic

Thanks for the help

I have a 930T with RDS. I've had it 2 years now. It worked ok for a month or so, although I never had much faith in the RDS traffic accuracy. Since late 2008, traffic has not worked, despite a replacement RDS antenna, many device re-builds and a device replacement. If you want reliable traffic, dont use RDS!

I drive 50,000 miles a year and I think I currently have the TOMTOM 540 LIVE HD, the traffic system is well worth the money it updates almost as soon as an accident happens (there is a built in sim card in the tomtom) and will automatically tell you about delays on the route. We had the aerial RDS system on an older model (510?) but it was crap and got thrown out the window on the m25 somewhere!

The other thing that is really good is the google live search, for instance you want a pharmacy, type it in to the google box on the tomtom and it will show you all of the pharmacys near you with phone number and address!
