Thailand and 30k
How long would 30k last in Thailand. Hand enough of work and this country.
Never been before but could fancy just f00king off. But it would depend on how long for. Dont want to be back in 6 weeks with no money and no job.

Invest that money into getting your Commercial Helicopters Pilot Licence and go live the high life.
Thailand is imo, a dump, good crack with the lads for a few weeks and thats it.

Apart from the usual 'tourist' centres you didn't get about much then
I lived and worked in Thailand for 18 months and loved every minute of it
Some parts are indeed dumps, but like everywhere else in the world it's only the parts where the Brits abroad congregate
If another opportunity presented itself I'll be off like a shot
PS: Living there cost me in the region of £8k for the 18 months.

Thailand is beautiful and the people are just lovely (a bit snooty in Phuket, but the rest are gorgeous), ok Bangkok isn't pretty but it's an eye opener!!! I'd go there in a heartbeat

If you eat where (and what) the locals eat, you'll eat both very well and very cheaply But do take your time getting used to the chilli
If you try eating western style while you are out there, it'll cost you a fortune, and you're more likely to end up ill
