Default Platstation 2

I'm looking at buying a second hand PS2.
I have seen slimline and original. Is one better than the other, what's the difference mechanically between them? [othert than the obvious]

Anyone selling one close to Stockport?

Thanks

No idea, I am an xbox gal. But I know the nephews have one of each and to be honest, performance doesn't seem to be any different. But I am sure someone who knows better will put me right.

The slimline PS2's are the ones to get. If you get an original that was built before a certain date, you won't be able to run some of the last games made such as granturismo 4. Seriously though, a PS2?

Maybe its for his kids - i.e. doesn't require a top of the range console
He'll be able to get a decent playable console with a shed load of games for a fraction of the price of say a PS3

Never thought of that. I have an old xbox that is sitting in the box, would probably do for some little fellow/lass.
