re-joined last year, after an admin cockup meant my membership was cancelled (was a member since 1985)

£94.50 for relay and covering my wife - not bad

this years renewal letter, that'll be £135.00 sir

mmm but checking on the web I can cancel and rejoin for £94.50

quick phone call and an easy £40 discount later

free markets – please use them

My Saab Assist (aka The AA) renewal was £47 this year - that's all options (Home Start, Relay, Stay Mobile etc) covered for me. Bargain

The bizarre thing is that their cancellation department encourages people to phone up to negotiate. Of course only the most cynical would suggest that the people who won't/can't/forget to do this more than offset the amount they have available to discount over the phone.

Does anyone know if they offer refunds if you cancel after you have already paid.

The old man is getting a mobility car & cover is already included so wont need it any more.

I,m meant to get a continuous discount of 25% through my work,

they forgot to factor that in this year, and added home start and all the other options...

one quick call and cancellation later...

and all resolved about £75 all in now

i think they bank on people not checking, and the renewals being automatic
