Cool I don't fancy doing lengths in that!

Try making a splash in the world's largest swimming pool... it's 1,000 yards long | Mail Online

Don't lose your jewellery, the deep end is 115ft!

Saltwater is just another way to keep the waterborn diseases from proliferating, chlorine isnt the only sterliser you know. Also saltwater is better for the skin and whereas chlorine evaporates and hence loses its germ killing power, saltwater just gets more concentrated as water evaporates making it more hostile to germs. (But its a bitch for corrosion though)

I have a swimming pool. Mine is only 35ft and boy thats a pain keeping the chemicals in check. I used to use Bormine but now use chlorine due to costs etc. Im for ever keeping the PH levels level, chlorine levels up, its a real juggle.

Chlorine or hypochlorite is pretty corrosive too!

Simon, careful mentioning stuff like that on here, the Scoobynet Socialist workers party will hound you out of town, but then I suppose its more down to how you say things, rather than what you say, so I think you will get away with it.

My in laws have one, it is quite a lot of work as you say, there is a clipboard with readings every day, tubs of chemicals, propane tanks and a shed load of complicated looking machinery that runs constantly, they only run it April to September as its outside, should imagine it costs a lot to heat and must be a bugger if you are on a water meter !

Luckily mine is indoor, and came with the house. Dont think I would have another one though but there's nothing better than an outside pool, on a hot summery day. I run the pump for about 5-7 hours aday, and keep it heated as my good lady is teaching my son to swim in there.

Last time I used it, was last week, and that was to dip my bike's inner tube into it, to find a leak :-)

lol.
I doubt anybody with a pool at home uses it to keep fit - i can see the point of having a dip pool,

if you live in western australia for example - like my bro inlaw
