Default Seen any good films recently ?

Here's some reviews of some recently watched dvd's for anyone interested.

The Reader........7/10 good film.
Defiance...........8/10 really enjoyed it
Juno..........7/10 cute film, funny.
300....7/10. better than i expected
Obsessed.........3/10. Its the Beyonce film, awful.
Marley and Me 5/10 .......Jennifer Anniston, quantity over quality. In fact has she made a decent film?
Eagle Eye.... 4/10
Knowing..... 4/10 Poor
Duplicity........4/10. I like Julia Roberts, but wtf was this about?
Revolutionary road.........6/10. Okay......ish.
Watchmen......2/10. Hate X-men, hated Watchmen.
Crossing over....5/10. Harrison Ford, sorry dude, age is catching up with you.

Any recommendations.

Watchmen and X-Men have almost nothing in common. An 8+ at least.

Star Trek XI - 7
Terminator Salvation - 4
Angels & Demons - 7
Transformers 2 - 6
World Trade Centre - 7
Haunting in Conneticut - 6
Iron Man - 7 (I like it)

Going to watch District 9 tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I'll like it.

jennifer anniston has made a good film, it was called derailment. About 5 years old, has Clive Owen in it and was excellent.

50 dead men walking, based on a true story during IRA times. 7.5/10

Angels and demons was rubbish. Guessed the twist in the first 15 minutes and the ending was just plain stupid.

The International is good 7.5/10

I quite enjoyed Cass, but that might just be because I love films about UK soccer hooligans!

the funniest film i have seen in ages has got to be the hangover, seriously jaw-achingly funny. also imo the best action film i have seen this last 12 months is Taken, Liam Neeson plays a well connected CIA type dad, and when his daughter gets taken he tracks them down and goes all PROPER badass on them. in fact i think i will dig it out and watch it again this afternoon, cheers for the reminder.

Taken is a great film, loved that!

I rated the new terminator and transformers 2 higher than above, 7 for terminator and 8 for transformers.... but thats just me

What did you think of district 9? the main character got right on my ****, it could of been such a better film if you ask me!!

Me and Nat watched Angels & Demons last night and thought it was brilliant. A few twists and the ending was very well thought out.

Would recommend but the DaVinci code was a little better.

The new Harry Potter movie is the only decent film i've seen in months, I really enjoyed it although felt slightly let down by the ending.
Transformers2 -1
Terminator Salvation -6
Star Trek -3 Dawesons Creek meets StarTrek didn't work for me at all.
DaVinci Code was an epically **** movie made from an overrated book so although I haven't seen Angels and Demons, I'm near enough certain it'll be **** too even though the book was better than the acclaimed DaVinci Code.

I've never heard you praise anything on here Jamie, so I'll assume your "gangsta" and everything you claim is sheet is indeed terrific.

That or you are a very miserable young man

I'll admit i'm a miserable ******* but i just refer to make my own mind up on things rather than let TV/Magazine reviewers sway of point of view. For instance the new StarTrek movie, its a generic teen action flick that has nothing special nor brilliant about it, yet it was praised as the savour of ST franchise because the mass market and idiots loving it. Being a real StarTrek fan, i just thought it was absolutely ****e and in the same way as ST:Voyager, it really didn't understand what StarTrek was all about.

Best thing i've seen in ages although not a movie but i'd recommend anyone to watch it is Battlestar Galactica, fantastic start to finish and ended on a high too!

When did Tom Hanks lose his mojo? he used to be such a good actor with brilliant parts. The last good movie he was in that i can think of was Saving Private Ryan.

I'd love to watch Philedelphia (sp) as he was supposed to be epic in that film. Suprised I never did.

Now Forrest Gump was fantastic to watch

Man On Fire...I liked it so much, I bought the watch...Beep.beep,beep,bebebebeep...BOOM.

I too enjoyed The Hangover, Ive got a mate like the dozy one.

Watched Hancock over the weekend, it was on sky, I laughed at that too, but I was on my 5th Peroni Nastro Azzurro at the time.

Cool

No mention of Gran Torino yet?

Surely the grand daddy of 'what a great Clint Eastwood film'..?

District 9 has to take second place so far though...
