Silestone or Granite or plain old wood
Looking at a new kitchen, but the comon thing these days seems to be granite work surfaces
Been to one place yesterday and they have something called Silestone which is very nice and supposed to be better than granite
Any views on this anyone got it, got granite etc
I know neither are cheap, Silestone being the dearer, B&Q do similar as its made with Quartz

Right then, what style kitchen are you having? If it's a traditional door and you're wanting a country look then I would say granite. But if your having a modern kitchen with a slab gloss door or similar then I would say silestone.
Silestone is a lot harder than granite and being quartz it's 100% non porus, granite not being so and will stain if your not careful. Silestone also has the microban impregnated so is healthier!
Out of 10 kitchens we sell with a solid surface, eight will be silestone, one granite and one corian.
