Default Scoobynet Mobile

What happened to Scoobynet Mobile?

When I used it on my WinPhone it was great - but now it seems to have reverted back to ordinary Scoobynet

Bring it back I say, makes far more sense, especially for the number of people logging in via mobiles now.

Why ?
Whats wrong with a nice plain text version? Quick loading, easy readin, non advertising version. Whats wrong with that?

Each to their own I guess eh

Lol just incase there is any confusion, SN normal loads just fine on my BB and 5800, just on a mobile, I'm happy to read what's posted and be able to reply.
For me its not a matter of quality, just speed. And on a mobile personallý, text is just fine for me.

In the original post I asked if the admins could get a scoobynet mobile site up and running because my N95 just couldn't handle the full site - loading pages with the default browser was a nightmare because of the speed it took to do so. The admins listened and after a month or two scoobynet mobile went live.

The new scoobynet mobile site increased the speed of loading pages (primarily because it only allowed text to be viewed with an exception to the odd gallery pic and adverts), but decreased site content for those who could view the full site with satisfaction before scoobynet mobile went live. Consequently this created differences in appreciation of content/speed preference - those who prefer the full site content on their mobile platform and those who prefer the compact site content on their mobile platform.

In the time it took scoobynet mobile to go live some scoobynetters introduced me to the opera browser and I was able to view the full site using opera-mini at a satisfactory speed on my mobile. Then scoobynet mobile went live and I (like everyone else) only had access to the mobile content through both the Opera-mini browser and the Nokia default browser - but this was what I asked for and so was rather chuffed - speed of loading the pages was always the primary issue for me.

However, after being introduced to the Opera-mini browser I noticed that when certain sites loaded their initial page through this browser I had the option to choose whether or not to view those sites with full content or reduced mobile content. With that in mind, and the fact that some scoobynetters preferred the full content and others were loving the mobile site, I asked the admins if they could do what the likes of facebook and google do and allow us to choose which content we want to view (full or mobile) when we arrive at the site on our mobile platform.

Stu's response was that at the moment such a front page option to redirect us to a full or compact site (dependant on our choice) isn't possible but he would look into it; subsequently scoobynet mobile was turned off indefinitely because those who prefer the full content were asking for this in the original post.
