Now this is dedication for you
"In 1948, Mr Paul almost died in a car crash that shattered his right arm and elbow. Afterwards, he convinced doctors to set his broken arm at a right angle in the guitar-picking and cradling position. "

Just heard about this on another site. True legend. I'm off upstairs shortly to have a damn good bash on my gibson rep in rememberance.

I saw him in NYC at the Iridium Jazz Club in Times Square last sumer on his 93rd birthday. He spent the entire gig flirting with his very hot female bass player.
Rather than thinking about his guitar playing all I remember thinking was "I hope I'm that horny if I get to that age!"
It's amazing the influence Les had on music, and not just guitar music, he was hugely innovative in lots of techniques not utterly commonplace in the recording studio.
