Telling all and sundry that someone has MRSA is a breach of their confidential medical records........what is the context you mean ??

A lot of the population will actually be carrying MRSA around. It's totally harmless until you have a big open wound...

Think you can carry it for 2 years or something if you come into contact.

I have suffered with MRSA twice now in 5 years. I'm no authority but I think..... For the general population it's harmless. The general population being young fit males/females. A general fit body/immune system will fit it on it's own. If I remember right it's pensioners and young children at risk. Although I'm led to believe most of the population carry MRSA within there noses and don't even know it.

I had a knee op in 2004 and the wound would not heal. They swabbed it, came back with MRSA all over it. They give me this special wash/shower gel and some cream for my nose. When they re-swabbed me a week later, they swabbed evey where nose, groin, armpits, when that swab came back it was clear. I did smell like a hospital for a week tho!!

The second time is quite recently, I fell of my road bike doing about 30mph a few weeks ago. It left a nasty gash in my right arm. Swabbed it!! MRSA!! Just had the cleared swab last week.

I wouldn't get too upset about it!!! unless your over 60 or under 8!!

The agency should have carried out a Risk Assesment on MRSA Transmission........ Is your girlfriend at risk from MRSA ??
