Buying watches on ebay
I am far from a seasoned buyer on ebay the only things i ever get is Chlorine for the hot tub & nothing much else tbh but i am after a Rolex Datejust or similar type watch & was looking through ebay & they seem to have a few nice ones.
What are the pitfalls i should look out for & how do i know the watches arent fake ?
There seems to be a few cheaper watches with diamonds set on the face that i like but they are coming from the US ? Are these a no - no ??
Thanks

I dont know anything about watches my self but my friends dad makes a living off buying and selling watches through ebay and i think if you get a fake you can get your money back through paypal if you can proove it is a fake
dont take my word for it though, i have been known to be wrong

My Dad buys and sells watches all the time on flee bay, not really expensive ones but lower end where the fakes are few and far between.
He has picked a few bargains up along the way, it is surprising to see the amount of people who do not know what the are selling and what it is worth

Paypal say they will refund you but they most likely wouldn't. Too many excuses.
If you like a watch, post it up or send a link to me and i'll give it an eye-over. I'm sure Yoza wouldn't mind having a look too.
Remember if you buy from outside EU you will pay import tax and VAT though.
There are a lot of shoddy DJ's with diamond dials from the States right now.
This guy - eBay UK Shop - Rolex: Used Rolex, Rolex watch, Vintage watches sells v nice one's in the UK. All his watches are top notch but he openly states that the diamond set dials and bezels are after-market not original. They are good quality though.
