Default Buying watches on ebay

I am far from a seasoned buyer on ebay the only things i ever get is Chlorine for the hot tub & nothing much else tbh but i am after a Rolex Datejust or similar type watch & was looking through ebay & they seem to have a few nice ones.
What are the pitfalls i should look out for & how do i know the watches arent fake ?
There seems to be a few cheaper watches with diamonds set on the face that i like but they are coming from the US ? Are these a no - no ??

Thanks

I dont know anything about watches my self but my friends dad makes a living off buying and selling watches through ebay and i think if you get a fake you can get your money back through paypal if you can proove it is a fake
dont take my word for it though, i have been known to be wrong

My Dad buys and sells watches all the time on flee bay, not really expensive ones but lower end where the fakes are few and far between.
He has picked a few bargains up along the way, it is surprising to see the amount of people who do not know what the are selling and what it is worth

LOL - not sure how this is relevant or why you felt the need to mention it, gave me a laugh anyway.

Because its the only thing i ever buy from ebay so thats why i mentioned it ! Would you like me to say that i buy chlorine for my swimming pool ? It would have just been as easy but there were too many words.

I have been done twice in a month on ebay now, and I use it a lot. Don't spend more than you can afford to lose, thats my advice.
